For sale is a copy of "Rails In My Garden: The Story of an LGB Layout," by Helmut Grosshans. Mr. Grosshans was an early owner, enthusiast, and advocate of LGB trains. He had a special relationship with the Richters, as evidenced by the fact that this book's cover was printed in the official LGB colors and had the Stainz logo as its imprimatur. Mr. Grosshans paid professional model makers to build replicas of actual locomotives he had seen and admired in his travels around the world, as well as in his historical research. His passion exudes from the text. He finished his introduction in the autumn of 1989, but sadly did not live long enough to see the book published. Many of his ideas inspired the Richters to turn them into production models for the rest of us to enjoy! And in the pre-home computer days, he had created a type of switching system by which his various trains would emerge randomly from his basement "silo" and make a journey through his garden layout. This is a hardbound volume of 104 pages. The binding is sound, no pages are torn, but there is a wrinkle in the top left corner of the front cover. This comes from a smoke-free home.
